The tiger getting skinned is very inappropriate for a children's book and upset my son terribly

About the author

Rudyard Kipling (December 30, 1865- January 18, 1936) was one of the most popular writers in English in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He achieved distinction in every genre he wrote—short story, novel, children’s literature, poetry, travel literature and science fiction. Kipling’s best known works include The Jungle Book, The Second Jungle Book, Just So Stories, Puck of Pook’s Hill, Kim, Mandalay, Gunga Din, The Man Who Would Be King, Life’s Handicap, The Day’s Work, and plain Tales from the Hills. He was awarded the Noble Prize in Literature in 1907, making him the first English language writer to receive the prize.
