About this ebook

A woman’s search for her missing husband yields devastating revelations in this gripping psychological thriller.

Maddy Saunders’s life is unravelling. After the heartbreaking, unexpected death of five-year-old daughter Chloe, she’s trying desperately to keep her family together for other daughter, Emily. But when the police inform her that husband Max is missing, the rucksack found at the bottom of a local canal leading them to believe he has taken his own life, her grief takes a new and sharper turn.

Unable to believe that Max would abandon her and Emily, Maddy desperately searches for clues as to what has happened to her husband. But as she delves deeper into his secrets, Maddy finds a web of betrayal that forces her to re-examine everything about the life they have built together.

Maddened by grief, and forced into untangling Max’s lies, Maddy will stop at nothing to uncover the truth—even if it destroys her in the process.

Perfect for fans of K. L. Slater, Shalini Boland, and B. A. Paris.

Wow, what a book! I had been waiting impatiently for Ruby’s follow up to her fantastic debut novel Someone’s Else’s Baby which was released last year and I am pleased to say that Every Little Secret was definitely worth the wait. From the striking cover which immediately catches the eye, the plot and a cast of strong diverse characters, this is a stunning piece of work that you need to add to your TBR list. Ruby has crafted a plot that really pulls at the heartstrings and has you caught and entangled in a web of lies and deceit, as the question is raised of how well do you really know a person. This is what main character Maddy Saunders is faced with after her husband goes missing believed to have committed suicide, 3 weeks after the sudden death of their daughter Chloe. Already drowning in grief, Maddy now has to come to terms with the fact that Max has been lying to her as the secrets he has been keeping from her come to light, which may just push her over the edge as she seeks out the truth. The cast of characters that Ruby has created are all extremely well written and are brought to life through the pages beautifully. The standout though is definitely Maddy. You can’t read this story without feeling her heartbreak and grief as it tears her apart. She has been created so realistically and through Ruby’s writing which is so vivid, has you wanting to reach inside the pages to comfort her. As the main voice, she holds her own and carries the story on her shoulders well. I really enjoy the ease of Ruby’s writing. It is so effortless which makes for a more enjoyable reading experience. I liked the way she structured the story over dual timelines, where it is told from the perspective of three voices as the story is unravelled. It is descriptive though not overdone as she sets the scene where she also masterfully builds up the tension and suspense till you can’t take any more. There are also twists that are subtly interwoven throughout to keep you on your toes which I always welcome in a book. Every Little Secret will have you completely immersed and enthralled right from the beginning till the end. It is a compelling and addictive read that moves at a fast pace and will have you struggling tear yourself away from it. Well done Ruby on another amazing book and I look forward to reading what you come up with next. I was a pleasure to read and review Every Little Secret which I highly recommend.
