About this ebook

Nine-year-old Archie and his five-year-old sister, Bobbi, are taken into emergency police protective custody after an incident of domestic violence at their family home.

Rosie collects the children from their out-of-hours foster carer on New Yearā€™s Day and instantly recognises Archie from a domestic violence workshop she helped with. Rosie remembers that when asked what he enjoyed most about the course, Archie said: ā€˜the biscuitsā€™.

Social workers are concerned that Archie and Bobbi have been neglected. As Rosie gets to know the children, she begins to suspect that something far more disturbing lies in their past.

Archie, jovial and polite, bats away Rosieā€™s attempts to talk to him about anything serious with witty one-liners and sophisticated distractions. Bobbi reacts violently, lashing out and throwing herself around. Rosie has never seen a child as young a Bobbi behaving so viciously, but it is Archie she is most concerned about as the weeks go by.

After a worrying incident at school, Archie tearfully discloses the truth ā€“ a shocking secret that has left him and his sister traumatised. Horrified at what she learns, Rosie is determined to help the young siblings find a forever-home that will provide them with the love and care they deserve.

I just loved loved this book from start to finish I could not put it down... I am a big Cathy Glass fan and read every single one of her books and then was feeling a bit low as have read other authors who foster memoirs and just can't get into them the same way but with Rosie I feel like I've hit gold... She sounds like such a caring lady and deserves a medal for how much she is there for these young children most in need... It was heart breaking to read the traumas young Archie and Bobbi went through in there early years but really touching reading there progress and feeling like your really there experiencing everything with them the way this book was so well written... I'm so pleased I came across this author... For the past week I have been flying through Rosie's books one after the other... What a lovely Dad Jimmy was in this... More men should take a leaf out of his book... Praying they have a lovely settled life now it's 5 stars from me šŸŒŸšŸŒŸšŸŒŸšŸŒŸšŸŒŸšŸ¤—šŸ‘

Not sure like is the right word for the horrendous story of these two children, it was well written but I agree with other posters that it was rushed at the end
