La pieza se estrenó en Madrid en el teatro del Circo. La representación de esta obra le concedió a Rosario de Acuña y Villanueva la distinción de ser la segunda mujer del siglo XIX que estrenaba una pieza dramática en el Teatro Español de Madrid.
