The Zoo is a wonderful easy-to-read children’s book written by Ronald Destra, Renald Destra, and Juanita Destra for young readers. This book is all about a typical day in the life of zoo animals. Children will learn about different animals and what they eat. Just like humans, animals have their own little personalities and opinions. The characters are animals living their lives facing day to day problems that children can relate to. The story teaches children how to resolve issues and conflicts differently on their own. In the story, the animals are bossy, have attitudes, gets jealous, angry, and even bullied. Everything these animals go through in this story, at least one person or another has also been faced with a similar situation. The animals had to figure out how to deal with conflict and to control their temper. The animals learned how to control their tempers, how to work together, and how to settle their differences. The moral of this story is that each of us is different but can get along together and still have fun. The illustration in this book was a great touch and went well with the story. The colours are bright and the animals are so well defined. This book is so easy to read, that my 6 and 7-year-olds love to read it to each other and take turns acting like the animals. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because overall I like the moral of the story and its outcome. I enjoy stories that teach life lessons. I recommend having this book in your reading arsenal for young readers. Not only will it teach them life lessons but how to solve problems. This is the second book that I read by the Destra Family and I am really enjoying them. I am looking forward to reading more books by them in the future and I suggest you do the same.
