About this ebook

Now an original series starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

Created with the cooperation of the Jordan estate, adapted by well-known comics writer Chuck Dixon and illustrated by the talented Chase Conley, The Eye of the World: The Graphic Novel has been hailed as an exciting interpretation of Robert Jordan's classic fantasy novel.

The Eye of the World: The Graphic Novel, Volume One begins Robert Jordan's epic tale by introducing Rand al'Thor and his friends Matrim and Perrin at home in Emond's Field, shortly before the spring festival. Moiraine Damodred and Lan Mandragoran appear and almost before Rand knows it, he's fleeing his home village with Moiraine, Lan, his friends, and Egwene al'Vere, the innkeeper's daughter, who wishes to become an Aes Sedai. The conclusion of this volume leaves the travelers on the road to Baerlon, barely ahead of the pursuing Trollocs and Draghkar. But even as they run for their lives, Moiraine and Lan begin to teach the young people what they will need to know to survive in this dangerous world.

Classic good vs. evil, Jordan creates an elaborate world with with great diversity. When i first picked up this series I read the first 11 books in less than two months, i couldn't get enough. I read many other fantasy series waiting for B. Sanderson's conclusion. It is still my favorite fantasy series. and I enjoyed it just as much if not more the second time i read through it without having to wait for the ending. while i am fond of darker fantasy novels there is something that draws me back to this story. even my sister and mother loved the series and they are not fantasy fans at all. I would recommend these books to anyone

Love the novel, but was underwhelmed by the graphic novel. The story adaptation is well done, but the illustration is only so-so. The illustrator's style is too reminiscent of Anime (high cheekbones and pointy chins), and, although the characters and locations are well imagined, there is a certain, well, rushed look to it, with characters insufficiently detailed and often looking significantly different between two panels.
