[EDITED] This is a rating of the product Google Play delivers, not of the content itself The series is great, no doubt about that. Read it twice on paper & was willing to spend a lot again (100+ euros) on the ebook. But the product Google play delivers is not great. Either Google Play Books on Android is at fault, or the ebook version Google Play is distributing is not compatible with the Android reader. On none of my Android devices can I read beyond chapter 12 of Eye of the World. Thinking this had to do with the hugh amount of pages I used an epub editor toe split the book. Even then: no reading beyond chapter 12. EDIT: bought the single book The Eye of the World to compare the content. Also in this book: no reading beyond the start of chapter 12. Clearly not a glitch but a fault in the ebook itself

Okay books with an interesting storyline (always to be likened to Tolkien) but marred by underdeveloped characters exhibiting cliche behavior and repetition. Women constantly blush, giggle, straighten their dresses, and fawn over men. Men find women incomprehensible. The hero wants to be a shepherd and that's as deep as his mental struggle goes. When Jordan wants to convey an idea - the Aes Sedai manipulate people, say - he simply repeats it again and again. Books 5 through 8 are particularly intolerable.

This is a series I've enjoyed a lot since the early 90's, but I have a very hard time trying to justify the $100+ cost for the Ebooks version when I still have all of my original books..

About the author

ROBERT JORDAN (1948-2007) is best known for his internationally bestselling epic fantasy series The Wheel of Time®, which has sold over 40 million copies in North America and is currently being adapted for the screen. A native of Charleston, Jordan graduated from The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina, with a degree in physics. He served two tours in Vietnam with the U.S. Army and received multiple decorations for his service.

BRANDON SANDERSON grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska. He lives in Utah with his wife and children and teaches creative writing at Brigham Young University. He is the author of such bestsellers as the Mistborn® trilogy and its sequels, The Alloy of Law, Shadows of Self, and The Bands of Mourning; the Stormlight Archive novels The Way of Kings, Words of Radiance, and Oathbringer; and other novels, including The Rithmatist and Steelheart.
