Ratings and reviews

Great read detailing the life of a truly remarkable man. Only minor complaint is that context and details aren't quite comprehensive enough at points in the narrative, but I'm sure lack of records are at least partly to blame for this.

Perfect for any interested in this particular era, and like myself, the Royal Navy especially. Cook is an exciting and insightful read revealing much about (in my humble opinion) the greatest explorer of all time. This book breaks away from the usual mind numbing biography, while still revealing all that you would have learnt (possibly more) from a less discriptive version, keeping you interested. It has really helped me to develop a respect and even liking for this incredible explorer.

ROB MUNDLE OAM is a journalist, broadcaster and bestselling author who grew up on Sydney's northside, initially in Cremorne, then on the northern beaches. His sailing career started as a four-year-old in a tiny sandpit sailboat he shared with his younger brothers, Dennis and Bruce, and the family cat.
