man I love this series so much, I read this novel way to fast. Edit: coming to reread this one since S2 was announced and wow I forgot how sad Pax's death and his memory was, definitely touching glad I re-read this, can't wait for the new vol to come out as well!

A satisfying story. Rifujin sensei never ceases to tweak the story in an unexpected way. Can't really say much more without giving spoilers, so I'll just say, this was a great read. I do wish these light novels are longer though.

More backstory for Zanoba and his homeland, and some good character development for Rudeus. Only a few volumes left to come, can't wait.
