Strangers are never to be trusted and trust has no price. Alfred an average teenager living with his uncle is a reject from school and has nothing to look forward to. But one day a mysterious man offered him and his uncle to steal the excalibur from his boss's office and gave a wopping 500,000 dollars to do so. but what they dont know is that they put the sword into the wrong hands and now the chase is on to hunt down that man and find out the reasons for its existence.the author really got the reader engaged to the point where putting down the book isn't an option. The author made a clear picture of the events in the story and made it sort of like "your own mini theater occuring in your mind".the best scene was when Alfred was getting chased down the highway by black Suzuki motorbikes that were shooting wholes in his Ferrari. I didn't like the ending though since it didn't wrap the story up conclusively and still left me some unanswered questions like what happened to him after the cave scene? And which side was his uncle on?. I greeaaaattly suggest this book to those who seek an adventure and mysterious occurences.

The Extraordinary Adventures of Alfred Kropp is a book that hooks the reader giving action and adventure in every chapter. From swords to guns Alfred Kropp and the knights of the round table battle against the bad guys, to free the world from the end. With this book Rick Yancey expresses action with people that take place in Camelot to modern day.
The suspense in this book is so crazy you can’t stop reading. It makes the suspense almost real.
He Herded us down the hall into the main room. Cabiri stood near the fireplace, a couple of black-robed bodies lying at his feet. Another guy in a black robed was sprawled facedown on the kitchen floor, blood pooling under his head. Natlie stood over him, breathing heavily, the dagger glistening in her hand.
The suspense is great in this book.
Another great thing about this book is the characterization. It is described well.
Arthur Myers was thin, with long brown hair pulled into a ponytail hanging halfway down his back. His silk suit was a funny color, almost multicolored, and when he moved, the light played off the material and made it shimmer, first blue, then white, then red. But the most noticeable thing about him was his eyes, set very deep into his head under a jutting brow. They were so brown, they almost looked black. And when he turned those eyes toward me for the first time. I shivered, as if I’d walked over a grave.
I can see the characters in my head. That's freaky and awesome.
I noticed that I was reading a lot more then usual. I was reading and walking! I couldn’t keep my eye off the text. My brain said more and no more. I was in a trance. I found myself felling brain dead after reading, feeling like I still needed to read but my brain died. When I was reading I was surprised that there was a battle scene in almost every chapter. It surprised me that I actually liked this book.
I gave this book a solid 10. If I could go higher I would. A sequel to this book is out and I hope it keeps on going into a series. The message to this book is anybody can go on a adventure. No matter how stupid or smart, big or small, shy or outgoing. I recommend this book to anybody who loves to read adventure and action. Extraordinary Adventures of Alfred Kropp is the best book ever.

The first time I had picked up this book was on accident. My teacher was rushing us out of the library and I didn't want to go home without a book so...I just took it. Let me tell you. Was.Worth.It. I couldn't put this book down! It had a nice build up to the climatic action and the main story line. Also, I love Alfred. We don't have much in common beside being overweight. But, he wasn't a "basic" character that I've grown to dislike over the years. Anyways, I recommend this for kids and adults.
