About this ebook

"Remarkable, not-to-be-missed-under-any-circumstances."—Entertainment Weekly (Grade A)

The Passage meets Ender's Game in an epic new series from award-winning author Rick Yancey.

After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.

Now, it's the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth's last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker. Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie's only hope for rescuing her brother--or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.

"Wildly entertaining . . . I couldn't turn the pages fast enough."—Justin Cronin, The New York Times Book Review

"A modern sci-fi masterpiece . . . should do for aliens what Twilight did for vampires."—USAToday.com

I started reading the books after watching the movie and couldn't put them down, but the finale to this story left me searching to see if maybe it was a mistake and there's another book after it. But no, apparently this is the last one and I can't begin to explain how utterly disappointed I am with the ending of this awesome series. Yes sometimes an ending that isn't predictable can be good, but not when it leaves you empty and lost and sad. Did not like the ending at all.

Uhhhhh, what!? This is a movie??? For starters. ENOUGH of this "children surviving the end of the world" already. It's like beating a dead horse. Speaking of children and dead horses, this could have been written better by either one of the two. Horrible writing. Horrible story line. Terrible flow. There's just so many problems here. I have nothing good to say about this book or story. It's right up there with the worst I've ever read. Definitely a skip. Atrocious

This is a book with a good, original story and it made me think a lot as I was reading. So props for that! The main character of Cassie slightly annoyed me me because she was frustratingly moody, but she was a strong female role (thumbs up for that!). Not sure yet if I want to read the next book in the series.....
