I really enjoyed this book. It was a very fun read that kept me coming back to it. The pacing was quick and the book did not have a lack of action. BUT...... I found that a huge area that this book suffers from is lack of character development although characters are shoehorned in with the intention for the reader to care about their untimely demise it just falls short. The author does an amazing job describing areas and people but sometimes it is overkill. Still, I would recommend this book.

Not half bad. I wasn't expecting a masterpiece, just a fairly written novel of 300-350 pages. It did more than deliver. It perfectly delivered the scenery of the game as well as its fast pace and great plot. I thought the writing was just a little bit plain, but it was still interesting enough to keep me reading on. If Burroughs is planning on writing another novel, I'd be more than happy to pick it up. Nice one Rick! Say hi to the Eagens for me ; ).

I think the reason most people dont get the book is because it is a little complicated. Now I played the alan wake game so I can understand it more because I picture the game when reading it. The game was excellent the fact that you can see what's happening as its going through the story made it more realistically scary. They did great for game not so much the book. Props for trying though.
