Ratings and reviews

Another awesome chapter in the Jesse Stone saga. Author Coleman continues to stay true to creator Parker's basic character, and yet maintains Jesse's growth and all-too-human challenges and experiences. You may guess some of the plot outcomes early, but you'll never anticipate all the twists and turns. A great read that's almost impossible to put down until the last page. And I loved the incorporation of "surprise guest stars" into the tale. Maybe next book will have Tom Selleck vacation in Paradise? Keep them coming, Mr. Coleman!

Robert B. Parker was the author of seventy books, including the legendary Spenser detective series, the novels featuring Chief Jesse Stone, and the acclaimed Virgil Cole/Everett Hitch Westerns, as well as the Sunny Randall novels. Winner of the Mystery Writers of America Grand Master Award and long considered the undisputed dean of American crime fiction, he died in January 2010.
