About this ebook

New York Times–bestselling series: The saga of one of fantasy's most beloved heroes reaches a sweeping, epic climax in this conclusion to the Homecoming trilogy

Something akin to "peace" has come to the Underdark. The demon hordes have receded, and now the matron mothers argue over the fate of Drizzt Do'Urden. Even so, it becomes clear to one matriarch after another that while the renegade drow may come and go Menzoberranzan, the City of Spiders will crawl forever on.

And so Drizzt is free to return to his home on the surface once again. Scores are settled as lives are cut short, yet other lives move on. For the lone drow there is only a single final quest: a search for peace, for family, for home—for the future.

Hero is the third book in the Homecoming trilogy and the thirty-third book in the Legend of Drizzt series.

Salvatore continues to weave amid tropes and genre cliches a world of genuine meaning, symbolizing so many real world dilemmas. The man writes in fantasy a world he wishes to see in the mundane. The heroes are compromised, and from unexpected backgrounds. They often require many volumes to find resolution. This episode resolves many loose ends again for the first in a while. It lightens the heart to read the hope stitched into the narrative within.

The boom is written around Dritz more then about him. In my opinion it is a book but does not hold up with even the rest of the trilogy. Don't get me wrong I liked the book and I like how it ends. The meat of the book specifically closer to the beginning just didn't feel quite like R.A.Salvators normal work. Not as much action in this book as there typically seems to be in R.A.Salvators books.

About the author

R.A. Salvatore was born in Massachusetts in 1959. He is the New York Times–bestselling author of more than forty novels, including the popular Forgotten Realms series, The Legend of Drizzt. His love affair with fantasy, and with literature in general, began during his sophomore year of college when he was given a copy of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings as a Christmas gift. He promptly changed his major from computer science to journalism. He began writing seriously in 1982, penning the manuscript that would become Echoes of the Fourth Magic.

His first published novel was The Crystal Shard from TSR in 1988, and his novel The Silent Bladewon the Origins Award. He is still best known as the creator of dark elf Drizzt Do’Urden, one of fantasy’s most beloved characters.
