Lucky.

 The one adjective used to describe my entire hockey career. I prefer to call it hard work, at least I did until my game went to complete crap. I haven’t scored in eight games and the team owner is talking about trading me. 

 I’ve never believed in superstitions. Never needed one. I suppose I was “lucky” in that way. But now the best way to refer to me is desperate. I’d wear the same socks for an entire year just to be the high-scoring center I used to be. 

Imagine my surprise when after spending New Year’s Eve with a woman, I score a hat trick in the next game—that’s three goals in one game for you non-hockey lovers. Now, I have to track her down and bribe her to do it again before every game. Get your mind out of the gutter, I’m not talking about it.

 I find her and when I get to know her better, I end up spending more time thinking about her than my game, but she’s made it clear she wants no part of me. She’s going to learn that I didn’t become a professional hockey player without having to fight for what I want.

Rating: 4.5 Stars Aiden is frustrated with his current situation. He’s in a business where you can be up one day and down or out the next. Saige is at her office when she gets a rather big surprise. And if you read the story then you’ll see that she gives someone else a surprise. If you’re a sports romance fan then this book may find its way into your library. Our authors always have a way of creating something special between their characters. It also seems like the readers get to be a spectator as to what is going on – both on the ice and off. They make secondary characters as interesting as the first and will leave you looking forward to seeing more of them. These two are a great pair and one I always look forward to what they have created. Ms. Peachwood is great in helping me understand who the characters are from Saige’s point of view. Mr. Clarke does the same with those characters from Aiden’s point of view. They also do a great job in creating tension and heat between our couple. They are the reason why I liked this version just a little bit more than the book. Our narrators got me to laugh when one was needed as well as shake my head when I see an unbelievable moment. They also made me sad when the book came to an end. I also fell in love with a secondary character named Tedi. She’s both a good friend and a voice of reason. I’m left looking forward to the next book since this is only book one of the Hockey Hotties series. I’m also looking forward to what other narrators may be coming to bring the series to life. Wow What can I say about Piper Rayne’s first hockey book apart from they nailed it!!!! My Lucky #13 is the first book in the Hockey Hotties Serues and if Aiden and Sage’s story is anything to go by they will certainly have another hit series on their hands from small towns to hockey romance this dynamic duo know how to please their readers. As you would expect this book has it all from swoon worthy heroes, strong sassy heroines, some sizzling chemistry and some laugh out loud moments we get it all. This story starts with hockey superstitions and the fun begins right there. Aiden knows Sage should be off limits because she is on a date with his agent and friend but when she throws a drink in his face and his next game is hockey perfection he knows he needs to keep her around. Keeping her around means getting to know her better and that means feelings come into play so will this couple get the HEA they both deserve. Guess you need to read the book to find that out. This book ticked all my boxes, I fell hard and fast for Aiden, I adored Sage but it was the friendships and interaction from the rest of the team that took this story to another level. Can’t wait for the next instalment from Hockey Hotties.

"Every day for the rest of my life" *sigh * (I'm grinning from ear to ear at the moment) Aiden and Saige brought all the feels 🥰 and warm fuzzies Aiden is so laid back despite being a sports icon. He has this good old boy vibe to him - He doesn't put himself above others. He has a heart of gold. He is a romantic at heart. Saige is ... not really a pessimist but she puts a lot of energy into preventing the inevitable It was fun to watch her slow capitulation These two were so good together If you want a light-hearted romance that will have you smiling and experience multiple 'melt your heart' moments this is definitely it 💖 I want Tedi's story she was such a blast
