About this ebook

Starting over has never been more dangerous.

Charlotte Dean loves her new job at the bookshop in the small town of Kingfisher Falls. One day she will buy the store when Rosie retires, but for now she's content to learn the ropes and forget her troubled past. Even the snobby book club ladies can't dampen her spirits.

But when a strange series of crimes casts suspicion on all the wrong people - including Charlotte - she can't stand back and watch. With Rosie more than happy to help, Charlotte begins her own investigation into Christmas tree thieves and a vendetta against a local family.

With the community divided and criminals on the loose, the annual Christmas Eve street party is about to change lives forever, and Charlotte is the only one who can prevent a disaster.

So much for keeping her head down.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a rewritten version of a book previously published under the titles DEADLY START and before that THE CHRISTMAS TREE THIEF. Since rights reversion, this book has been freshly edited with some new scenes and has a new title and cover.

I had read one of the earlier versions of this book and enjoyed the story but you should have stayed with your original editor as the editing and proofing of this version was terrible. One scene was repeated word for word a few chapters later.

Heart warming but action packed mystery story. The heroine, Charlotte, comes to Kingfisher Falls to heal her broken heart and start over. One of the best aspects is that another heroine, Rosie, is in a wheelchair but is far more capable than most people. Also, her disability is barely noticed by the other characters. I love that, Rosie is a dynamic nd well loved character in the book.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story, half way through couldn't put it down but at the end I was looking for more chapters, to me I thought the story ended abruptly.
