Flossy is very bossy! She is always telling everyone around her what to do including her cat, her dog, and her MOM! When given time-out in her room, Flossy spends it mumbling about who is "really" bossy - her or her mother. She is also bossy at school to her classmates and teacher. Then she meets a boy who is just as bossy as she. They butt heads with their bossiness til they both end up in time out! In conclusion, they each learn to be a little less bossy and a bit more suggestive of their ideas. Honestly, I am not really sure how I feel about this story. Overall, it was probably a somewhat accurate portrayal of how young children may treat it other, but Flossy irritated me. (smile) My own daughter thought Flossy was way too bossy! However, I did like the colorful pages and illustrations which are sure to capture your child's attention. Flossy is a pretty exact depiction of a very bossy little girl. The part where she bosses her mother and teachers grated on my nerves just a bit. Although, I am sure some children do this, and she does get sent to her room for punishment. The ending helps children understand it is better to learn to make suggestions and express your likes and dislikes kindly, rather than try to tell people what to do or make them do it your way. In general, I think kids will be able to learn something from this book about how to treat others and get along. I received this book courtesy of ireadsbooktour in exchange for my honest opinion.
