About this ebook

The autobiography of Paramahansa Yogananda (1893 - 1952) details his search for a guru, during which he encountered many spiritual leaders and world-renowned scientists. When it was published in 1946 it was the first introduction of many westerners to yoga and meditation. The famous opera singer Amelita Galli-Curci said about the book: "Amazing, true stories of saints and masters of India, blended with priceless superphysical information-much needed to balance the Western material efficiency with Eastern spiritual efficiency-come from the vigorous pen of Paramhansa Yogananda, whose teachings my husband and myself have had the pleasure of studying for twenty years."

A book of exceptional quality. From chapter to chapter the reader may find hair-raising factual events in lives of various saints and sages, which are unheard of, and cannot be understood in the scale of logic and reason. That human is more of Spirit than Body is understood from the lives of women mystics,Therese Neumann and Giri Bala, who lived without eating for years or decades. He brings in alignment between faiths. It is the only book found in the ipad of Steve Jobs, who, by this book, may have faced his untimely death( that announced its arrival time) without pain/agony.

I read this book 11 years ago. What an impact his life had on me. An amazing walk in his shoes. Adored and cried my eyes out at the end of the book. I so connected with everything he shared of life. He truly was an amazing & forward thinker.

Everyone has their own journey into Spirituality, and each has their own path towards realizing the Divine within. The days ahead must certainly involve us all pursuing unity as world citizens. Paramahamsa Yogananda makes this abundantly clear in this book. Perhaps this book goes on to become a reference book for a more tolerant and honest community in the world. Thank you!
