On the whole this is an enjoyable read. My biggest problem with it is that the entire book feels like a filler episode. All this novel does is provides a more detailed accounting of events from previous books without progression of the main story. The fact that we all ready knew the outcomes of every event in this book left me disappointed. I was very much looking forward to the next part of the story but got a recap instead. As such this book is can be entirely skipped without worry for those readers who are waiting for the installment.

Half of this book is just highlighting how useless the previous filler volume was because it manages to do give us the same information that volume did by jumping around to every perspective involved in the war. The rest of this book is just giving more details about things we already knew about. Want to see how the succubus commander took a fort with a monkey wave from her perspective even though we already knew that's exactly what she did many books ago? Well that's what we're getting! The Julius/Yaana chapters here were somewhat interesting this time around, but the only real information of consequence comes in the last ten pages or so. I can't technically suggest this one be skipped like the last volume, but it certainly feels like a waste (though to be honest, I bet they will recap the important conversation at the end anyway since they were super vague here to begin with, so maybe I *can* suggest this one also be skipped)
