I definitely enjoyed the follow up book. The development of the characters is clear. I love the mix of Nigerian culture and the recognition of the contrast with black American culture. I found some parts a little harder to follow in this book, but I also enjoyed delving deeper into the lore. The reappearance of characters and recap from the prior season to make this a true continuation was/is nice.

I absolutely loved this book. I couldn't put it down. It makes you want to find your own inner strength.

I missed my train stop bc I was so absorbed! Brilliant book, can't wait for the next one!!

About the author

Nnedi Okorafor was born in the United States to two Igbo (Nigerian) immigrant parents. She holds a PhD in English and is a professor of creative writing at Chicago State University. She has been the winner of many awards for her short stories and young adult books, and won a World Fantasy Award for Who Fears Death. Nnedi's books are inspired by her Nigerian heritage and her many trips to Africa. She lives in Chicago with her daughter Anyaugo and family. She can be contacted via her website, www.nnedi.com.
