The police think she’s a criminal…

He knows she’s a target.

Remington Barton’s failure to capture a serial murderer ruined her career as a small-town sheriff. Now she’s a US marshal—and the prime suspect in a homicide that matches the New Castle Killer’s MO. Her ex, Deputy Marshal Dylan Cove, never stopped hunting for the monster who eluded Remi. Will they be able to prove her innocence, or will they become a predator’s next victims?

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it. While this is a part of a series and some of the prior characters make appearances, you don’t have to read them to enjoy this story. I would recommend that you read the prior stories though as they are really great. Holy Batman! The author really put the mystery and intrigue into her stories. I just kept guessing and guessing (most of the time, I was wrong!) The author really did a great job in plotting out this storyline, the action was fast and the story flowed nicely. I really could see the scenes being played out. This book is written in a multiple POV format. I love that as it gives me that glimpse into the characters’ thoughts. I can more fully understand the characters and their actions during a scene that way. There is some kissing scenes but then a fade to later. If you love murder mysteries, suspense and intrigue with your romance, you definitely need to read this one (plus really all of the series!)

About the author

Nichole Severn writes romantic suspense with strong heroines, heroes who dare challenge them, and a hell of a lot of guns. When she’s not writing, she’s injuring herself running and practicing yoga.
