I am not sure Neil is meant for short stories. Most of the ones collected here have feel of being the kernel of a novel, rather, than a story of it's own. And the longest is also one of the best. But it gave some references to diverse my reading, and was a good enough read, so buy or borrow it. But don't let it be your first Gaiman book. Try instead American Gods (or Good Omens if you have yet to discover co-author Terry Pratchett).

I love Neil he brought me back to the land of fairy i had sorely missed it. I love this collection he never disappoints me and always has fresh ideas. I was reading one of the other reviews for the 'problem with Susan ' and how Narnia was ruined for the reader the story made me want to read the narnias and actually made me more of a fan. And to that reader You let it ruin the books for you you went in with a preconceived notion and you didn't appreciate the story for what it really was.
