The Google description mentions a scanned pages view; in fact, it does not exist. It's just an epub version of the same book and, therefore, is useless for anybody who needs precise pages or wants footnotes on the same page as the main text. Google should amend the description to reflect this (though preferably, force Fortress Press to provide them with a proper document). As for its content: the book makes a number of interesting insights, but is disappointingly long-winded, repetitive, orotund, and exaggerating. I eventually found the work so exhausting that Wright's observations weren't worth the Where's Woldo-ish treasure hunt it took to find them (and therefore returned the book). To make matters worse, the text is poorly documented. Too often one looks in vain to find citations of primary or secondary sources to which Wright refers or alludes.

Complaining about Wright's writing style or footnote structure is like claiming not to be a follower of Jesus because you don't like the color of sandals that he wore. There is a lifetime of study and introspection in his writings, including this book. Get it. Read it. Live it.
