About this ebook

Now a Netflix animated film!

Nimona is the New York Times bestselling graphic novel sensation from ND Stevenson, based on his beloved and critically acclaimed web comic. Kirkus says, “If you’re going to read one graphic novel this year, make it this one.”

Nemeses! Dragons! Science! Symbolism! All these and more await in this brilliantly subversive, sharply irreverent epic from ND Stevenson. Featuring an exclusive epilogue not seen in the web comic, along with bonus conceptual sketches and revised pages throughout, this gorgeous full-color graphic novel has been hailed by critics and fans alike as the arrival of a “superstar” talent (NPR.org).

Nimona is an impulsive young shapeshifter with a knack for villainy. Lord Ballister Blackheart is a villain with a vendetta. As sidekick and supervillain, Nimona and Lord Blackheart are about to wreak some serious havoc. Their mission: prove to the kingdom that Sir Ambrosius Goldenloin and his buddies at the Institution of Law Enforcement and Heroics aren't the heroes everyone thinks they are.

But as small acts of mischief escalate into a vicious battle, Lord Blackheart realizes that Nimona's powers are as murky and mysterious as her past. And her unpredictable wild side might be more dangerous than he is willing to admit.

read it while she was still writing it, and the character growth, world building and art development were awesome to behold. 10/10 will shark again 7 years later edit: I read it as it was originally published on Tumblr, and bought it as soon as the book came out. Now, many years later, it is so interesting to look back and see both Nate's evolution as their own person and the story changes from comic to adaptation. Both are for the better. Cheers, Nate.

This book is a masterpiece. It started out on a very comical theme, but ended being such a deep and philosophical read. I loved the bond between Ballister and Nimona. I hope there is a part 2 where they meet again.

I want to share it with pretty much everyone, children and adults alike. It's engaging, there's never a dull moment AND the characters are beautifully thought out, multifaceted personalities that have feelings behind their actions! It's a wonderful read and it is wonderful illustrations, neither seem to come before the other, a delightful book with an incredible balance. I noticed it 6 months ago or so, bought it 2 or 3 months ago, read it, and have come back even later to write this review because its that astoundingly good.
