About this ebook

A New York Times bestseller: The life story of Chris Kyle, the American Sniper.

A brutal warrior but a gentle father and husband, Chris Kyle led the life of an American hero. His renowned courage and skill in military service earned him two nicknames -- The Devil among insurgents and The Legend among his Navy SEAL brethren -- but his impact extended beyond that after he came home from combat and began working with fellow veterans.

Journalist Michael J. Mooney reveals Kyle's life story, from his Texas childhood up through his death in February 2013. Mooney interviews those closest to the late SEAL and also sheds light on the life of the suffering veteran who killed Kyle. The Life and Legend of Chris Kyle is a candid, essential portrait of a celebrated warrior -- a man about whom a movie has only added to the legend.

Admittedly, I was biased coming into it, but I wanted to give it a fair shot before I formed my own opinions. But I only got through the prologue & chpt 1 before I stopped. It's not the story that made me cringe, it's what he says. It's like reading the schematic of a closed-minded and hateful machine. "kill for your country" is essentially all I read. This is 2016, our mentality should be better than this. Also, he's insulting. "for you Yankees out there, this means 'x'. " Yes, thank you for that, jerk.

I really enjoyed reading this book and learning things about Chris Kyle. I wish I knew the guy. I gave it 4 stars because every once in a while the author would throw in a a bunch of details about Chris that seemed a little over kill and a bit like propaganda. He was a great guy I agree! I didn't need further convincing. If you want to learn more about Chris I'd definitely recommend this book.

The book that made a US terrorist accepted by millions of people in the United States. Would give a 0/5 if I could. Wasn't worth the money spent
