Ratings and reviews

Bought this for Olivia Gates's story, and wasn't disappointed. It has all of the exceedingly dramatic elements that, having read a ton of her books now, I've come to recognize, know and love. The Maureen Childs story fell flat for me - there was no chemistry, no passion, and towards the end mh does something that seems so inexplicable it literally comes out of left field and not in a good way. The characters aren't impressionable, which makes this story lack everything you'd want in a romance novel save the overused tropes. There's so much more I could say about this book but tldr: Honestly I wish I could have just purchased the one book I wanted without the other.
