Even if the author and I have a difference of opinion, this book was still good. A bit long, but good. As I kept on reading several different ending scenarios played out in my head, this was one of the first. Now I know why this series isn’t as popular as the others.

What an amazing and talented story teller, Mary E. Pearson! I devoured these books in a week's time. I loved the characters and the way the story came to life. It's a true and wonderful gift!

I just finished reading The Beauty of Darkness with tears streaming down my face. Joy for Lia and Rafe and Pauline and Kaden, and sorrow that my journey with them had ended. Throughout the chronicles I was captivated by the imagery, depth of the characters, and the complexity of their relationships. I could easily see this as a wildly popular television series, but that could not touch what I felt as traveled every step of the journey with them from Morrighan to Venda. Thank you.
