Definitely a timely book. I was able to drift away to the cabin in the mountains, with a quaint surrounding village when things were most challenging for my family. It was as real as being there, and so much needed. A vacation a few hours at a time. I couldn't put it down. I read it several times.

Mary Alice Monroe 's book was uncannily timely for me, having just finished breast cancer treatments and starting a sabbatical from work and and facing a crossroads in life. Interweaving the journey of self discovery with a mystery and the beauty of nature and the river drew me in and gave me much to think about while enjoying a well written novel. The best good read combo.

An amazing journey of courage & self discovery. Loved it, couldn't put it down. Would love to know the continuing story of Mia, Stuart & all the characters of Watkins Mill.
