About the author

Maria is an attorney by trade. She is an animal lover who likes to create awareness of animals as sentient beings. She rescued her dog Bruno from a shelter in Miami Dade. Little did she know Bruno would become a therapy dog supporting children with disabilities and veterans. He is also especially gentle to the elderly whom he treats with the utmost love and care. Maria wanted to share Bruno's story with children and their parents to inspire a younger generation to love animals and hopefully find solutions to save all the millions of strays, abandoned, and abused animals in the world.
