About this ebook

In the third installment of Haddix's series about a futuristic society in which families are forbidden to have more than two children, Nina, a secondary character in Among the Impostors, is falsely accused of treason and imprisoned by the Population Police. Her interrogator gives her an ultimatum: either she can get three other child prisoners, illegal third-borns like Nina, to reveal who harbored them and where they got their fake identification cards, or she will be executed. Nina sees a chance to escape the prison and, taking the prisoners with her, quickly discovers their street smarts. But when their food supply runs out, Nina seeks the boy she knew as Lee.

Overall, this book was entertaining, but I did not find it as suspenseful as the previous two books. The main thing I disliked about this story was SPOILERS how intense psychological torture of a child was thought to be a good "test" to see if Nina could be trusted. And I find it hard to believe that Nina never had a moment where she felt mad at them for what they put her through or questioned if she could trust THEM after having her strings pulled like a puppet. A more realistic reaction would have shown at least a bit of hurt before accepting her new reality, not just immediate joy towards the people behind the most miserable part of her life.

It's a good book, but what's the point of it. I didn't really care about Nina before now. I would have enjoyed it more if Nina hadn't wined so much. Who is Jason really, It's hard to understand anything Mr. talbot says. It's nice to know Nina isn't elil. Of course we all thought she ", so the first few chapters had me confused. What happens now? How did Luke/Lee start having games at Hendrics school? How does this story really affect the story?WHAT is Jason up to?

Another great installment. Book 3 "Amongst the Betrayed", definitely lives up to the intensity of the first two. If your unsure about reading, which I can't Imagine you would be. Check it out.
