About this ebook

Elizabeth Avery could easily be the girl next door. But what she has planned will make your blood run cold.

At first glance, the crimes appear random. Arson. Theft. Fraud. Murder. But these are more than random crimes. They’re moves in an increasingly deadly game. And the one element they have in common: a woman who is gorgeous, clever . . . and lethal.

Elizabeth Avery has a winsome smile and flawless figure, but underneath is a heart of ice. She’s a master manipulator, convincing strangers to do the unthinkable. And she orchestrates it all without getting too close. Until now.

When Elizabeth ruthlessly disposes of an inquisitive young reporter, her crime catches the attention of Federal Prosecutor Allison Pierce, FBI Special Agent Nicole Hedges, and crime reporter Cassidy Shaw. They know they’re dealing with a cold-blooded murderer who could strike at any time. What they don’t know is that they’re already on a first-name basis with the killer.

And one of them may be next on her list.

Heart of Ice by Lis Wiehl and April Henry is a mystery/detective fiction novel in which Elizabeth Avery is making sure that no one gets in her way of having everything she wants. At all costs. And this gorgeous, twisted woman, is just that, twisted. The whole time I was reading it, there was something that was bugging me and I couldn't decide if I liked it or not until the end. The main thing that I didn't like the lack of... Jesus I guess you could say. Someone in the book was a Christan, but I don't actually remember. It was one of the woman, but I can't recall who because, other than the occasional prayer (in their head) their faith wasn't evident. There were no conversions, nobody talked aloud much about Jesus and at the end they almost didn't seem forgiving. Not that someone needs to be saved for it to be a Christan novel or for me to like it. I think planting seed in someones heart is as important as sharing the gospel. I guess an essential thing to me in Christan fiction that there is some sort of spiritual growth in a character. Which I didn't see in Heart of Ice. I felt like it was a little bit rushed at the end and that there were some lose ends but overall I'll give it a three out of five

Thomas Nelson graciously provided me with a copy of the latest installment in Lis Wiehl’s “Triple Threat” series, Heart of Ice, to read and review. Heart of Ice follows the personal and professional lives of three women that through their strong commitment to punishing criminals have developed a very strong bond with each other. These women face many of the personal strife and challenges in Heart of Ice that many if not all women and men can relate to in some way or another. From medical issues to emotional health there seems to be no limit to the ways the reader can identify with these women. While struggling with their own personal troubles they manage to join minds and resources to hunt down and bring to justice a cold-hearted killer masking herself as a friend in this third installment of the “Triple Threat Club”. Arson, theft, murder, swindling, Breast Cancer, miscarriage, drug addiction, single parenting, and more all combine to create an absolute page turner. I found myself unable to put this book down, just like the first two books in this series. Through the eyes and minds of a Federal Prosecutor, a FBI Special agent and a prominent TV news reporter the authors take the reader through a genuinely mind thrilling hunt for a killer. Readers will not be disappointed with this book.
