About this ebook

New York Times bestselling author Lilith Saintcrow returns to dark fantasy with a new series where the faery world inhabits diners, dive bars and trailer parks.
Jeremiah Gallow is just another construction worker, and that's the way he likes it. He's left his past behind, but some things cannot be erased. Like the tattoos on his arms that transform into a weapon, or that he was once closer to the Queen of Summer than any half-human should be.

Now the half-sidhe all in Summer once feared is dragged back into the world of enchantment, danger, and fickle fae -- by a woman who looks uncannily like his dead wife. Her name is Robin, and her secrets are more than enough to get them both killed. A plague has come, the fullborn-fae are dying, and the dark answer to Summer's Court is breaking loose.

This book isn't bad. It isn't great either. Also it suffers from (what I refer to as) Star Wars syndrome. Like the books from the Star Wars books that used to come out, this author is FAR too fond of inventing new words like they're Bill Shakespeare, but unlike the Star Wars books there's no way to know what the hell a "quirpiece" is. In my opinion this comes from an inflated sense of ability, which frankly is evident from her pen name instead of just using her real name Anna Beguine...... Essentially someone has read a ton of Butcher and Rice and thought they could walk with giants. However there really is so much potential but it continuously feels like the author is attempting to run before they can walk.

Didn't find this to be her best work. Will read the 2nd one to see if it's better.
