I love this story. It had me crying lots - sometimes sad years and sometimes happy ones. I absolutely detest bullies, and poor Mason gets bullied endlessly for being the biggest kid in school and for sweating profusely. He's not real smart, and and can't read or write very well, but boy does he ever have a heart of gold. He's loyal and honest, and you can't help but love him. Mason Buttle stole my heart, as did Hazel Grace and Gus Waters (The Fault in Our Stars).

read with my neice we both really enjoyed it though it is a bit sad. for older preteens early teens
