This is a great contemporary romance. Full of twist and turns, hurt, friendship, betrayal, love, family, forgiveness and so much more. This is in the Rescue River series yet is a stand alone book. I loved the way the author allows you to feel both Vito D'Angelo and Lacey McPherson feelings and thoughts. Vito is only trying to keep a promise to a dying friend, yet it may be the only thing that can actually keep him from finding true happiness. Lacey is a strong, fun widow trying to help out anyway she can. When her childhood friend comes to town and needs a place to stay she opens her home but will she also open her heart? I fell in love with many of the characters in Rescue River and look forward to reading more from this series.
