This is a good whole-world history of the Spanish Flu. It's got a straight narrative aspect to it, but it also bops around on various curious angles of the disease. It's very readable. I'm presently assigning it as my distance learning assignments since Covid-19 struck. My freshmen and sophomores are liking it well enough. She has published two novels in English, and her writing on science has appeared in National Geographic, Nature, the Economist, and the Telegraph, among others.
