I wondered if this could be a bit too easy (my Spanish is sort of Intermediate). The first story, for example, uses the present tense right at the start of the story. For me, it’s great, but it’s for beginners.

My husband is really enjoying this series of short story books as an enjoyable back-up to several years of working through study programmes: interesting stories, varied vocabulary, well-written.

Spanish Short Stories for Beginners is a collection of several short stories designed to help people learn the language. After each four-page story, there is a summary in Spanish and English. There is also a list of vocabulary words which appeared in bold text throughout the story. At the end are a few questions which test the reader's comprehension of the story. Answers follow.
