Believe me, as an engineering student, a pure waste of money. This provodes the most basis of basic details anyone could have taken from the internet, nothing more. You will however get a small introduction to building materials and things, but nothing related to designing or engineering, and that too is very mich outdated. And the language is full of grammatical errors and spelling mistakes.

A nice attempt to introduce civil engineering. But, with many failures. Grammar and spelling is very bad - weather for whether - the chapters are too long & very out of date, especially all the surveying information! Dumpy levels? Is this civil engineering history? There is no information on hydraulics, municipal infrastructure, engineering management or economics. It is mostly materials & some methods used in America & Britain. There is nothing about requirements, laws, regulations, ethics. Very little about environmental aspects. It is out of date, unknown audience, randomly organized, boring, not a reference book, not a good overview, no good photos, written by a technician not an engineer. It doesn't help young people understand engineering, it's useless to an engineering student, useless to an engineer, not applicable in Asia, not something to quote from. It should have been edited by a good editor. Typical colonial language & idioms from 19th C. repeated innocently, like a child.

This is a very basic introduction perhaps translated from a non-english language. It has no math and might introduce a beginner to basic vocabulary and scope.
