Really makes you feel like you've explored Antarctica with the characters, along with the same fascinating scientific, political and philosophical speculations and imagined futures that made the Mars Trilogy great. The union of art and nature in some scenes is exquisite, probably inspired by Robinson's own interaction with artists at the pole.
