Pretty cheesy space-opera type book. Doesn't really do anything new that's exciting but it isn't terribly written. I enjoyed reading it, but don't know if I could get through the other 6 books.

This series is a masterpiece. You can almost smell the various cultures. Absolutely riveting. For me, ranks way up there with "Dune" and "Lord of the Rings. Not be be missed.

Read the whole Saga many many years ago and it is by far the best out there even today. I'd like to read it again sadly short on money, so one day I'll read again.
