This was a thoroughly enjoyable read. I am young enough that the prequel trilogy was coming out during my adolescense. For me the concept of what a Jedi was, how they used the Force, and the way the galaxy worked was pretty fleshed out because I saw the prequels at a young age. It wasn't until this book made me re-evaluate my understanding of the original trilogy that I realized just how blind Luke was and how little he knew after A New Hope. This book brought Luke to life to me in a new way. Recommended.

I like the sample, probably because Luke Skywalker and I think so much alike. The part about clearing your mind seemed like something that I would say. However, I am removing one star from my 5 star rating because nobody in their right mind is going to spend $11.00 on the last 150 pages of am eBook, even if it's Star Wars, especially since most ebooks are less than 5 bucks. Still good job.

Much like Luke's soup noodle in the book, I hope this is just a taste of what's to come in this new line of canonical books. The first person approach was fine, but difficult to experience being the young naive silly Luke for so long. An easy read that is worth the money to fill in some of Luke's Force development gap.
