About this ebook

A hot new standalone in the series that's been called "A total, utter must read." - Book Fanatic

Recovering from a pulled groin muscle isn’t exactly how I planned to spend my much-needed summer vacation. But being nursed back to health by my gorgeous friend Bailey, who’s just graduated from medical school, doesn’t exactly sound like a hardship.

We spend a week together at my family’s beach house, a week of swimming and barbecues, a week of entertaining my little cousins and sleeping right across the hall from each other. A week of watching Bailey grow closer with my mom and sisters, and my wacky but lovable grandma. A week of enjoying Bailey tending to me—which is saying something, because it involves a lot of shoving ice packs into my underwear and taping up sore muscles.

She’s funny and kind, and after just being myself for the first time in a long time, I find my walls come tumbling down. But when Bailey says she’s not looking for a relationship, I’m bound and determined to be more than just the fun hookup who sprained his groin a second time—this time with her.

In looking back at my reviews for the previous books in the Hot Jocks series by author Kendall Ryan, I have to smile. It seems that each successive book about these sexy and talented hockey players is my favorite one of the series, and CROSSING THE LINE is no exception. Asher's and Bailey's story is a sweet and sexy friends-to-lovers read that gave me exactly what I wanted, and left me smiling. All of the guys in these books have that sweet side hidden behind their sexy, sweaty, hockey-playing exteriors, but Asher's goes even a bit deeper. His love of family and pretty quickly evolving realization that he's more than ready to put away his fast-living playboy ways to focus on a relationship with Bailey make him one of my favorite Ice Hawks of them all. That Bailey is written as a successful and self-aware woman is a definite plus for me. She knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it, although she's a little bit more of a hard sell in the relationship department than I was expecting. Between the hecka chemistry and the real friendship that she and Asher share, there's just no way that love won't win. CROSSING THE LINE is a sweet and sizzling read that warmed my romance-loving heart. And, although teammates and friends from earlier books make their appearances, it can be read as a standalone, and will delight, no matter what. If this series isn't already on your TBR, it should be... ❤️

How can one man be both alpha and sweet, a family orientated, in touch with his feminine side yet completely masculine? This is the conundrum we are faced with as we get to know Asher on a deeper level. While he has been seen as a player of epic proportions so far in the series, at heart he is a romantic looking for the right person to fit into his extremely full life and large family. Bailey and Asher have been friends for a while thanks to their mutual friends; despite having simmering attraction to each other they have never acted on it due to their own negative thinking. Plus they have never had any real alone time with which to confront their chemistry. However, all that is about to change when Asher requires a medical companion to accompany him to his grandmothers birthday party/family reunion. With Bailey freshly out of med school and with a few weeks before starting her residency, she makes the impulsive decision to go with Asher in a professional compacity. Not that things stay strictly professional with them for long!!!! I fell completely in love with Asher’s boisterous and demonstrative family especially his wicked grandmother, Lolli. I especially liked the way they absorbed Bailey into their family dynamic, giving her something she hadn’t realised she had been missing in her own life. Asher is completely wonderful in his ability to be attuned to his emotions, he doesn’t shy away from his feelings simply acknowledges them being open and honest with his desire for the future. With both Asher and Bailey having extremely busy careers, it is understandable that Bailey would have some concerns with how a relationship would work between them following their week away. Especially as she had a previous relationship end badly due to her limited free time. Although Asher isn’t perturbed in the slightest realising that in order to make a true foundation for the future he and Bailey would make the most of the time they have together. Which Asher is determined to prove to Bailey with actions and not just words. Crossing the Line is a fast-paced story which will have you giggling and swooning right along with Bailey as Asher masters the way to his woman’s heart ❤

Crossing the Line is the fourth book in Kendall Ryan's Hot Jocks series, but what is brilliant about them is that they can easily be read in any order or even as complete stand-alones. As each one features a different couple connected to the same Ice Hockey team, and this time it's the turn of the charming Asher and his friend/medical student Bailey. And honestly, it was such a fun, low angst, and sexy tale. That was packed full of feels and wonderful characters as Bailey kindly agrees to accompany the injured Asher home to Coronado Beach and a family reunion where she encounters all of Asher's extensive family including a spunky grandma called Lolli and three very interested sisters. Not to mention some single male cousins who would very much like to get in Bailey's pants. Would recommend.
