Amazing book!!! If I could rate it 10 stars i would! This book should be a required read for kids in middle school, its so realistic and personal. Now i wouldn't know how Mia felt beacause im not an immigrant, but my parents are. My dad is from a country in Africa called Guinea Bussau, and my mother was born in Cape Verde, an island, so they both know what it feels like to be growing up in poverty. Growing up as a mixed kid, i wondered why people could be so cruel, as to judge someone by the color of their skin, or where they were born. These questions have been in my mind for a long long time, and I still wonder about them. This wonderful book explores this sensitive topic and yet still brings humor and love and it has everything a good book should have. I have never read any of Kelly Yang's books and this is the first one i've read from her, and I have to say, I. LOVE. IT. To those who love suspense, a good thrill, but also humor and fun, this book is for you! Thank u Kelly Yang!
