Definitely a 5 star book. Congratulations Kathryn Casey, you have done it again. Casey has quickly established herself as one of the top four true crime authors in the USA (other three are Ann Rule, M William Phelps and Gregg Olsen). Well written and very easy to read and follow without leaving out any crucial details show a well researched book which tells the reader the whole story leaving little if anything contentious. This book really proves the old adage that "the love of money is the root of (all) evil. Sad that Celeste Beard's actions were ignored and permitted to be continued which eventually led to murder. The twin daughters initial acceptance of their mother's deeds will be a pain they will carry for life. Highly recommend this book to any fan of true crime, if you haven't read any of Casey's previous books, you have truly missed a great author. Looking forward to reading more of Casey's books soon.

Can‘t get enough of this author. This particular book describes a completely amoral, despicable person who seems pure evil. Not a story to make you proud of the human race but the fallout on the families in this heart wrenchingly tragic case is perhaps even sadder.

I love every one of this woman's books I've read so far. I love the context she gives, society, family and she doesn't try to make anyone an angel or demon.
