Saw the movie first, cried so hard (happy!) after that I called my daughter Lydia in Georgia to tell her about it. I knew she would understand. She had read the book, said she cried too, and urged me to read it. So incredibly glad that I did! Looking forward to reading the second installment. Would recommend these beautiful books to everyone... Thank you, Kami and Margaret, for sharing your amazing talents with us grateful Mortals.

The last time I read a book this quick was from the Hunger Games trilogy. I enjoy the twists and plot development...(I love Ridleys character. She will be played by Emmy Rossum, whom I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting quickly with. Emmy told me about the series when I met her which piqued my interest and led me to buy this book. I'm looking forward to her adaptation of the cunning Ms. Ridley in the screenplay. Until then I can't resist delving into the next book, Beautiful Darkness.

Ok, so I have an unpopular opinion but, I preferred the movie to the book. The book was great in its own way so no offense to the author. I don't know, I just didn't like the flow of the story. It felt like I was reading the words depression, drama and teen angst on repeat. I am going to read the second book so hopefully I can fully get into it then, but I am setting my expectations low just in case. I really wanted to get drawn in and that just never happened for me. I love a book that I can't put down and this wasn't it. The movie I could watch over and over again though. Sorry author, you can't please everyone.
