Legendary writer/director/producer Joss Whedon (Avengers, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Cabin in the Woods) begins his X-Men epic here with Cyclops, Wolverine, Beast, Emma Frost and (Wheadon favorite) Kitty Pride. A break away from previous darker, more moody X-tales, follow the X-Men as they try to remind the world that mutants are superheros too! But what does the public outcry for a new mutant cure have to do with a long deceased friend? Find out in this uncanny tale of the Astonishing X-Men

So far have only read the Whedon run which I think is the first 4 books, and it's one of the best series I've ever bought. 100% worth it.
