About this ebook

The New York Times bestseller: a revelatory inside story of the trial and final days of New England Patriots superstar Aaron Hernandez, by his attorney and New York Times bestselling author Jose Baez.

When renowned defense attorney Jose Baez received a request for representation from Aaron Hernandez, the disgraced Patriots tight-end was already serving a life sentence for murder. Defending him in a second, double-murder trial seemed like a lost cause--but Baez accepted the challenge, and their partnership culminated in a dramatic courtroom victory, a race to contest his first conviction, and ultimately a tragedy, when Aaron took his own life days after his acquittal.

This riveting, closely-observed account of Aaron's life and final year is the only book based on countless intimate conversations with Aaron, and told from the perspective of a true insider. Written with the support of Hernandez's fiancée, Unnecessary Roughness takes readers inside the high-profile trial, offering a dramatic retelling of the race to obtain key evidence that would exonerate Hernandez, and later play a critical role in appealing his first conviction.

With revelations about Aaron's personal life that weren't shared at trial, and an exploration of the Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy diagnosis revealed by his autopsy, Jose Baez's Unnecessary Roughness is a startling courtroom drama and an unexpected portrait of a fallen father, fiancé, and teammate.

I Absolutely Love Unnecessary Roughness inside The trial and Final Days of Aaron Hernandez by Jose Baez I've learned so much about the Boston Double Murder Of Daniel de Abreu & Safiro Furtado. Jose goes Through everything from evidence to the Witnesses I love How Jose did everything he could For Aaron & Jose Doesn't Just Talk about the double murder He talks about the Odin Lloyd murder & how The evidence doesn't point to Aaron & Goes through the Evidence. Jose Definitely Did a amazing Job showing us that Aaron's Behavior was from the CTE & Jose Definitely Had the right Thought about CTE because If he didn't Go Through with Research we wouldn't have found the Amount of Damage Aaron had from the CTE & the sighs of CTE . Jose Definitely Did everything he could to Help Aaron & Jose ultimately Made History with going through with the CTE Research Doctors say Aaron had the worst Case of CTE anyone has ever seen in someone Aaron's age Jose Showed us how football can ultimately kill Anyone

The book itself was great! Jose does a great job of telling the other side of the second trial and I actually believe through factual information in Aaron's second trial that he was an innocent man. What confuses me though is that Jose talks about the loyalty he has for Aaron but when he talks slightly about the first trial, he doesn't exactly sound too confident that Aaron was innocent. Just what he would have done differently in the first trial as an attorney. So although he sides with Aaron for his second trial, it sounds as though if he had defended Aaron in his first trial that he would just be doing his job as an attorney instead of actually believing that his client was innocent, as he discusses in the book. I have reached out to Jose several times about his thoughts on Aaron's first trial and what Aaron's claims happened and have gotten no response.

This book was awesome! Jose Baez did a great job in the court proving that Aaron Hernandez was innocent! I truly believe he would of got Aaron acquitted. I could not put this book down! I just had to finish it Jose did great on really explaining Aaron life it's sad. It did not have to end the way that it did Aaron should still be alive and a free man! May you be Resting In Peace Aaron Hernandez!
