Loved the cloak series and the ghost series both. Also enjoyed the frostborn and shield knight series by this author. Caina Amalas is a character with depth the reader grows to know and love over many adventures...and those adventures are basically tossed in the garbage by bringing her to Nadia's world, as if she had always been there. I feel like Caina would hate the elves of the "cloak" world, because they are tyrants, they all use magic to some degree, and they own human slaves. I don't see her willingly working for their queen for money. Perhaps if the two worlds were connected by their respective spirit worlds, Caina could have been brought over with her backstory intact. These two books could also have been good "cloak" adventures, if the author had just created a new character in Caina's place, instead of retconing an established one into another world, giving her a completely different backstory, and hacking out huge parts of her life that give meaning to her actions and motivations.

Love the whole Cloak Games series. To have another Queen's agent working with Nadia is icing on the cake.
