OK I'm biased and a John Carpenter fan which brought me to this book and I wasn't disappointed. It has a introduction and short section about the writer and how this novel came to be. Its very like carpenters take on it with good writing which supprised me for an old science fiction tale. If you love the movie you'll love this, if you don't then give it a try, maybe some-Thing might grab your interest. I hope the sequel does finally get written as there is a tantalising preview after the main story.
