John Barnes is a life-long golfer and has been a speaker, trainer, and facilitator for more than 10 years. He claims that his earliest inspiration was Bill Murray (as Carl Spackler) in the movie Caddyshack, and was ready to ardently follow the Dalai Lama in the search for total consciousness. John said, "You could offer me a dream job paying millions, and if the catch was that I could never play golf I would turn it down." Yep, he's THAT kind of golf crazy. He is also one of those philosophical golfers that sees parallels from golf to life. He has managed to figure out, through a lot of strife and error, that neither golf nor life is perfect, and that the pursuit had better be as fun as the arrival. His experiences and associations in personal development have inspired the creation of his novel, 18: A Novel of Golf and Life.
