Ratings and reviews

It's become too easy to praise so many of the older story arcs and begin to overrate just how good they truly were/are... however, that is not the case here. Any and all praise this 12 issue story arc gets is well deserved! It absolutely deserves to be included on the list of "Best Ever" and "Most Influential". Just do yourself a favor and get this comic. If you've already read it, then read it again! Must have for collectors, fans, or even first time casual comic readers.

Jim Shooter, then-editor-in-chief, ushered in a permanent change NOT only to Marvel BUT to comics in general when the FIRST Secret Wars (later Secret Wars II in a nine-issue maxi-series with its crossovers AND the solo-issue Secret Wars 3 in Fantastic Four #319) appeared in the twelve-issued maxi-series! ! ! This series starts off a bit slow with issue #1 but from that point on the story is a roller coaster ride that you don't want to miss. This book was hard to put down at times, and it set the stage for events to follow for decades.
